The animals thank you.

While we know that there is a "special someone" for every animal, some of our animals will stay with us all their lives because that person just didn't come to find them.

Many are healthy, happy, emotionally well adjusted animals, but some just aren't able to emotionally recover from their experiences -- and some are just not "cute" enough to be chosen.  These are some of the very "least of us" - God's creatures, who are here because life just happened wrong for them.

What is A Second Chance Animal Shelter (ASCAS)?

It is a Low Kill/No Kill Shelter and we do not euthanize animals to make room for additional animals.

The shelter is not able to accept visibly sick or injured animals and we cannot pick up stray animals.

The shelter cannot accept feral or wild animals. We define "feral" as cats and dogs that cannot be held without trying  to scratch, bite or get away.

We are a 501(c)3 non profit, shelter. Our existence depends solely on donations and contributions by members and friends, and proceeds from sales at A Second Chance Thrift Store, located at 537 S. Mill Street, Manning, SC.  Their phone number for donations and information is  (803) 433-2323.

Dog adoption and cat adoption, and spaying/neutering saves lives.  Adopt a dog or cat and you'll have a friend for life!  Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or ASPCA.
